My Safety… My Choice.

It’s my right to choose my method of protection!

America was founded on the idea of Freedom.  The Founders emphatically declared:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The right to life demands the right to defend life when it is threatened.

Miriam-Webster defines Liberty as follows:

: the state or condition of people who are able to act and speak freely
: the power to do or choose what you want to
: a political right

Not only do we have the right to LIFE and its defense, we also have the LIBERTY in choosing our method to do so.

For generations women have fought for our rights to choose what we do with our bodies, our careers, our families. Now it’s time to fight for our right to defend ourselves.

Statistically, women are targeted for violent and sexual crimes.  Women are often not as strong as the criminals who seek to harm them. We can easily be overpowered or disarmed in a hand-to-hand fight with a single assailant. Multiple assailants are nearly impossible to defend against. Having a firearm is the great equalizer.

Nearly 200,000 times a year women use a gun to defend against sexual abuse.1 But many women remain unarmed and are victimized as a result.   One Million United is determined to ensure every woman has a right to choose her method of protection.

“Domestic violence is any behavior involving physical, psychological, emotional, sexual or verbal abuse. It is any form of aggression intended to hurt, damage, or kill an intimate person.”
